YouTube has a selection of new movies as wide as anyone else, as long as you`re willing to pay for streaming. But the video streaming service also offers a large, though hard to find, selection of legal free movies. Real! And we`re not talking about strangely downloaded, grainy, sketchy movies. Really, 100% free (and good) movies are available alongside viral stars and adorable animal montages. Ultra Movie Parlour offers a front row seat with an eye on the Indian entertainment industry. You can find a ton of feature films and a few trailers scattered around the YouTube channel, and with over 19 million subscribers and four billion channel views, it`s no wonder it`s such a hit. YouTube has always had feature films available that could be watched for free on the site, but most of them were cut into a dozen ten-minute clips and are, you know, illegal. Like the specimens of Saving Private Ryan, Summer School and Mac & Me, we look at each other when we spend a hard day in the salt mines. The Sparks Brothers are a thorough and charming assessment and appreciation of an idiosyncratic band, and the highest praise you can give them is that they share a sensibility with their inimitable musicians. It`s not an easy task when it comes to Ron and Russell Mael. The California brothers have been running Sparks since the late `60s (yes, the `60s) and permeate genres as quickly as their lyrics make jokes and dismiss them.
Glam rock, disco, electronic pioneering work – and even when immersed in the most experimental and orchestral corners of their musical interests, they retain an enduring power-pop genius, aided by Russell`s flute whistles and Ron`s catchy touches. Here, in the incredible lineup and solid personality of Sparks, we quickly begin to understand that The Sparks Brothers is the marriage of two perfect subjects sharing a mission. Ron and Russell, art form experts who care about each other, connect with director Edgar Wright around an ironic desire to have fun and make art out of it. One of them made a trilogy of parodies that is above individual genres (zombie, cop, science fiction movies). The others have made subversive songs like “Music That You Can Dance To”, which manage to reach (and often exceed) the bops they run. Together, The Sparks Brothers become a confident and deeply serious music documentary. Slapstick, with a wide selection of old music videos delivering the punches and punches, and visual gags pull the pee out of its impressive talking heads when they drop a whining music documentary snap. “Pushing the boundaries?” Expect a postal tug-of-war between the Maels. This sense of humour, which appreciates the dumbest fruit and highest frontal reference, comes from the brothers` admiration for seriously questionable French filmmakers like Jacques Tati (with whom Sparks almost made a film; remember, they love movies) and a particularly formative affinity for British music.
This doesn`t completely tear down the facades, as even Wright`s most personal works still pass through a protective shell of physical comedy and references, but you get a sense of the Maels as workers, brothers, artists, and people in conditions they feel comfortable with. The nearly two-and-a-half-hour film is an epic that cannot be denied. You won`t need another Sparks movie after this one. Yet it is less a biography than an invitation that attracts newcomers and long-time listeners with its complete understanding and admiration for its subjects. – Jacob Oller PizzaFlix`s YouTube channel offers a little bit of everything. The network focused its efforts on “preserving and discovering the golden age of Hollywood and television.” When I watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople, I had to go through a commercial every 10 minutes, but I was able to skip the ad after five seconds. I was complaining about the heartbreaking nature of commercials that begin at seemingly random moments in the film, sometimes in the middle of a character`s dialogue, but I remembered watching for free.
