Liverpool Legal Society

We have a winner! After several months of planning, the final of our annual bargaining competition takes place today. A big thank you to all the participants who prepared intensively for your fictitious client and to the jury for their support and feedback. We are grateful to have David Tarttelin of MSB, Samuel W. of Atlantic Chambers and Jo Bezzano of the Law Clinic to judge the competition, and for 7 Harrington Street Chambers for providing mini-students as prizes. We are pleased to announce that this year`s recipients are Joshua Roberts and Isobel Ashbrook. The jury is particularly impressed by his attention to detail and precision of articulation. A special mention goes to Adawa Awanayah and Charlotte Whitehouse, who responded well in the final, and their hard work should be appreciated. We hope you enjoyed the competition and find this experience meaningful to better equip yourself on your career path. Finally, a special thank you to our negotiator Paul for personally organizing this contest, including planning all rounds and writing personalized comments for 50 participants. In the past, this is a difficult task for a team of 2 people. The company is impressed by his professionalism and work ethic. The Liverpool Law Society was founded in 1827 and has 2100 members. Members are very diverse, ranging from practitioners engaged in high-quality commercial work to complex charity work.

The Society is proud to be a leading local association that, in addition to many services and activities, provides links to a number of regional and national organizations, a provider of a comprehensive and high-quality legal education program, a system of active expert committees covering a range of practice areas, and a wide range of social and networking events. The University of Liverpool Law Review is an excellent opportunity for law students to present their work. Through the rigorous editorial process, students` work is taken to a more professional level and then published in a widely circulated journal. It can often seem like students write their essays just to get a grade, thanks to the law review, students can give more publicity to their hard work and show off their legal skills. #Universityofliverpool #lawreview #students #legal Liverpool Law Society is a membership organisation for lawyers, lawyers and other lawyers in Merseyside and the surrounding area. Our Legal Connections evening in November creates a platform for students to network with representatives from multinational law firms, chambers and postgraduate legal education providers such as BPP (who offer the LPC, BTC, SQE and PGDL courses). In addition, we will organise a series of “know-how” skills building events on various topics such as concluding an apprenticeship contract and writing the perfect CV. Finally, we will host various panel discussions with exciting speakers on diversity and pro bono work. A legal career is notoriously competitive; Therefore, our academic events aim to give our members the opportunity to acquire many transferable skills and enhance their CV.

Our major academic events include the Human Rights Series – a collection of events initiated by the Law Society, with various academics and guest speakers discussing current affairs – and the annual negotiation competition. We will join more than 40 teams and individuals #Liverpool #legalwalk today to raise funds and awareness for it. t.co/sgPS2rDxU2 Today we announced the semi-finalists of the University of Liverpool Legal Society`s annual bargaining competition. As an organizer last year, I was asked to judge the preliminary rounds. This year, the environment is very different as we return to head-to-head competitions, but the return to normality also brings administrative challenges. The bargaining team had several postponements and we had a contest that was evaluated on a Sunday morning! Despite all the challenges we have faced, I hope the competitions so far are informative and satisfying for the participants, it`s also great to see familiar faces! We are pleased to have several sponsors this year, including 7 Harrington Street Chambers and BPP Law School I hope that the experience in negotiations and mini-students will benefit participants in preparing for their future career as lawyers ððð ̯ Good luck to the teams who have progressed and you have all done well in your preliminary rounds! Since membership is free this year, we absolutely encourage everyone to join us! To make sure you don`t miss any upcoming events, follow us on our Instagram @livlegalsoc.
